When will I see you again?

JM,

I know that you are out getting better and traveling but I miss your music. Its been a while and I hope you are well. I can’t wait to hear some new songs and get that feeling back in my heart. You are truly talented and I hope someday I will be able to say that to you face because your music has been special in my life for a very long time. So thanks for all of that. I hope you are enjoying this time off and hope that you are feeling better. See you soon…I will be out in the audience when you come back to town. Take care!

So I entered a contest to get a spot into the NYC Marathon and I didn’t get that spot. I was kind of bummed at first but then realized I can still train for it anyway. I am sure I can find another way in. So it was my first day of training to run a Marathon and it was hard. Oh but I did get a brand new pair of running sneakers. I get to try them out tomorrow. So till then, night!

If I find out I was picked, I will start to blog my training. I am hoping this happens for me because I am looking for something different to happen in my life right now. So fingers crossed.

Quiet

10:00
lock all the doors
and turn out the lights
feels like the end of the world
this tuesday night

there’s not a sound
outside the snow’s coming down
and somehow I can’t seem to find
the quiet inside my mind

10:43
the space in this room
has turned on me
and all my fears have cornered me here
me and my TV screen

the volume’s down
blue lights are dancing around
and still, I can’t seem to find
the quiet inside my mind

daylight is climbing the walls
cars start and feet walk the halls
the world awakes and now I am safe
at least by the light of day

one forty plus.: Twitter Isn't "Over", I'm Over It.

Last week in Los Angeles I participated in a live Q&A as part of an ASCAP expo on songwriting. When the topic of Twitter came up, I explained my waning interest in it being part of my daily life. By no means do I think it’s over as a medium altogether, but I do think that the days of “Twitter: The…
